📚 What Syllable Smash Provides

Syllable Smash is a subscription-based web application that helps anyone practice sounding out words and build English reading skills. Features include:

Word lists organized by syllable count and difficulty
Syllable-by-syllable breakdowns to support pronunciation
Definitions and example sentences for every word
SAT-level vocabulary sets for test preparation
Support for adult learners, ESL/ELL users, students, and anyone learning to read English

👤 Who May Use This Service

Syllable Smash is for anyone who wants to improve their English reading and vocabulary skills — students, adults, ESL learners, teachers, and parents.

Users must be 13 years of age or older to create an account
Users under 13 must have an account created by a parent or guardian
By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate

👪 Parents and guardians are welcome to create accounts for use with their children.

💳 Subscription & Payment

Syllable Smash is offered on a monthly subscription basis
Payments are processed securely through Stripe
Your subscription renews automatically each month until cancelled
You may cancel at any time from your account settings
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period

🔑 Your Account

You are responsible for:

Keeping your login credentials confidential
All activity that occurs under your account
Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

All content within Syllable Smash — including word lists, definitions, example sentences, design, code, and branding — is owned by Michelle Chapman and protected by copyright law.

You may use the content for your own personal learning and practice
You may not copy, redistribute, resell, or publish our content elsewhere
You may not scrape or systematically download our word lists

⚠️ Limitation of Liability

Syllable Smash is provided "as is." We make no guarantees about uptime, specific learning outcomes, or uninterrupted access. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Michelle Chapman shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

⚖️ Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Massachusetts.

✏️ Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Syllable Smash after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email.
